Three-story Stone Pagoda
삼층석탑 · 三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pagoda has a two-tier foundation (gidan) topped by a three-storey body (tapsin). The lower tier of the foundation is carved with downward-facing lotus patterns, while the upper tier bears upward-facing lotus patterns. On the body, pillar shapes are neatly carved at the corners of the body stone of each storey. The first-storey body stone is relatively large, the height drops sharply at the second storey, and the third-storey body stone is similar in size to the second. The roof stones each have three-tiered eave supports on the underside, with the four corners curving slightly upward. The fact that the first-storey body stone looks disproportionately large next to the second and third, together with the three-tiered roof-stone supports and other stylistic features, suggests that this pagoda dates from the Goryeo period.
