Gwonwangmun Printing Woodblocks of Beomeosa Temple
범어사 권왕문 책판 · 梵魚寺 勸往文 冊板(언문판)

These are woodblocks for a collection of Buddhist gasa, Korean-language devotional songs, compiled by Chukjeon of Geonbongsa Temple in the late Joseon period, containing three works: "Gwonwangga", "Jachaekga" and "Seowangga". The contents generally aim to awaken benighted sentient beings and rouse their faith in the Buddha. "Gwonwangga" describes the way to be reborn in the Western Pure Land, "Jachaekga" is a self-reproach for having spent one's years in vain without knowing the Buddhist Law, and "Seowangga" expresses the wish to leave home to practise the Way and be reborn in the Western Pure Land. There were 22 woodblocks for this text in all; 7 or 8 have been lost, and 20 now survive, forming a single volume in one binding. According to the printing record, it was first published in the seventh lunar month of 1908 at Beomeosa Temple on Geumjeongsan Mountain in Gyeongsangnam-do.
