쌍수정사적비 · 雙樹亭史蹟碑

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis stele records how King Injo of Joseon took refuge at Gongsanseong Fortress during Yi Gwal's Rebellion. The stele body stands on a tortoise-shaped base and is topped with a capstone imitating the roof of a wooden building, in the style typical of Joseon-period steles. Its inscription records the rebellion of Yi Gwal, the circumstances that led King Injo to flee, his activities during the ten days he spent at Gongsanseong Fortress, and an account of the fortress itself. The stele was erected in 1708, the 34th year of King Sukjong. Its inscription was composed by Sin Heum, who had served as Chief State Councillor under King Injo, and the calligraphy was written by Nam Gu-man, who served as Chief State Councillor under King Sukjong.
