A stupa symbolises a monk's grave and houses their remains or relics; this one stands in the stupa field beside the Iljumun, the entrance gate of Baengnyeonsa Temple. It has a simple form, with a bell-shaped tower body set on a round base stone. The upper edges of the base stone and the tower body are carved with a border of lotus flowers, and a finial carved with a lotus is set on top. Apart from the lotus decoration, the stupa is plain and unadorned overall.
