This is the Poeun Poem Manuscript, a poetry collection of Jeong Mong-ju (1337–1392), better known by his pen name Poeun. It is a later printing of the original first edition, which was published in 1439, the twenty-first year of King Sejong, adding to the poems already gathered the Sailbon Yeongsi (Poems on an Embassy to Japan), compiled by his uncle Jeong Do, and the Bongsa Myeongjo Haengnok (Record of a Mission to the Ming Court), compiled by Ham Jeon-rim, together with further poems by Jeong Mong-ju collected from various other sources — the whole assembled by his son, Jeong Jong-seong. The copy held at the Busan Metropolitan Citizens' Library, though printed later in the Joseon period, is certainly from an edition predating the Imjin War (1592–1598), and the only other copies believed to be from the same edition are those held at the National Library of Korea and the Kyujanggak Institute of Seoul National University, making it an extremely rare book of great heritage value.
