Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krSangimgyeongdang Hall is a detached hall built by descendants to honour the virtue of Kim Yeol, who went by the pen name Imgyeongdang; it stands against a backdrop of higher mountain scenery than Imgyeongdang (a Gangwon State-designated Tangible Cultural Heritage). Somewhat smaller in scale than Imgyeongdang, it measures three kan across the front and two kan on the side - a kan being the traditional unit of space between two pillars - and is a paljak-roofed building whose roof sides are shaped like the Chinese character 八. It consists of a one-kan daecheong (a wooden-floored hall open to the air) and a one-kan ondol room (a heated-floor room). The two central pillars at the front are round, while the pillars on either side are square. Inside the building hang a plaque inscribed with the 'Hosongseol' (Discourse on Protecting Pines), composed as a gift for Kim Yeol by his close friend Yulgok Yi I, and a plaque reading 'Imgyeongdang' written by Yudang Kim No-gyeong.
