This is a government office building where the administrative affairs of a county were carried out during the Joseon period. It was first built in 1667, the eighth year of King Hyeonjong, and is said to have been repaired in 1699, the 25th year of King Sukjong. It measures seven bays across the front and four bays along the side, with a hip-and-gable roof whose side takes the shape of the character 八 (eight). The right six bays of the centre form a large wooden-floored hall (daecheong), while the left four bays are an ondol, or heated-floor, room. The outer walls are fitted with doors of the same form on all four sides, with an entrance in the centre bay of the front and one at the left of the rear. Overall the building is simple yet dignified, its seven-bay front giving it an imposing form, and it clearly reflects the character of Joseon-period government office architecture.
