A sindobi, or spirit-path stele, is erected before the tomb of a king or high official to record his lifetime achievements. This stele honours the achievements of Jeong Yu-gil (1515–1588), styled Imdang, a civil official of the mid-Joseon period. Jeong Yu-gil took first place in the civil service examination in 1538, the 33rd year of King Jungjong, was appointed to the censorial post of Jeongeon, passed through various offices, and in 1585, the 18th year of King Seonjo, rose to the position of Left State Councillor. Taking loyalty, filial piety, and prudence as his foundation, he had a broad and accommodating disposition with strong powers of persuasion, and on major matters he acted decisively guided by principle. He also excelled at poetry and prose and was skilled in calligraphy, earning acclaim for a style known as the "Imdang style." The stele consists of a body set upon a square pedestal and topped with a capstone; the lotus design carved on the shoulders of the pedestal and the twin-dragon design on the capstone are executed with great refinement. It was erected in 1646, the 24th year of King Injo; the inscription was composed by his maternal grandson Kim Sang-heon, and the calligraphy was done by O Won.
