Gangjeong-ri Five-story Stone Pagoda
강정리오층석탑 · 江亭里五層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a stone pagoda with a five-storey body set on a single-tier base. Pillar shapes are carved on the base and on the first-storey body stone. The thick roof stones have supports carved on their undersides, and the four corners are slightly upturned. At the top, a finial base and an inverted-bowl ornament survive as the crowning decoration. Overall, the first storey of the body is tall, while the reduction in size from the second storey upward is only slight. Judging from features such as the base being reduced to a single tier, the thick roof stones, and the roof-stone underside supports reduced to four tiers, the pagoda is presumed to have been built in the Goryeo period.
