Sauidang is a lecture hall built in the late Joseon period. It was erected in 1732, the eighth year of King Yeongjo, by Jeong Jung-gi, Jeong Jung-beom and Jeong Jung-rak — brothers of Jeong Jung-ho — to strengthen their fraternal bond and to provide a place for scholarly study and the education of students. It originally stood in Yongsan-dong, Jayang-myeon, but was moved to its present location in 1977 because of the construction of Yeongcheon Dam. The building measures five bays across the front and one bay in depth, with a gable roof whose profile takes the shape of the character 人 (person). The two bays on the left form a wooden floor and the three bays on the right are made up of rooms; round pillars are used in the floor area and square pillars in the rooms. Besides Sauidang itself, there is a servants' quarters, Suuidang, measuring six bays across the front and one bay in depth.
