Provincial Tangible Heritage

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis bell was made during the Joseon dynasty and originally belonged to Jangheungsa Temple; it is not known when it was moved to Bongeunsa Temple. The dragon-shaped hanging loop by which the bell was suspended has broken off, but its body is completely preserved. A lotus-flower base is placed at the bottom of the bell, and it is distinguished by a single cloud-borne bodhisattva and a single striking panel where the bell is struck, one of each. The bell bears an inscription recording that it was made in 1392, so its date can be established with certainty.
