Ohoedang Hall was built in 1727, the third year of King Yeongjo of Joseon, by the provincial governor Gwon Dae-gyu, to commemorate Jeong Seok-hyeon, who was known by the pen name Ohoedang. In 1977 it was moved to its present site because of the construction of the Yeongcheon Dam. It is a simply built structure measuring four bays across the front and one bay to the side. The roof is a plain gable roof whose side profile forms the shape of the Chinese character 人 (person), but narrow subsidiary eaves, known as "eyebrow roofs", are attached along both sides so that it appears like a hip-and-gable roof. Such examples are commonly found in the Yeongcheon region. Inside, a wooden-floored space of two bays is set on one side and two bays of rooms are arranged side by side on the other.
