Gajeongmogeun Collected Works Woodblocks
가정목은선생문집판 · 稼亭牧隱先生文集板

This is a set of woodblocks made to print the collected writings of two great scholars of the late Goryeo period: Yi Gok (pen name Gajeong, 1298-1351) and his son Yi Saek (pen name Mogeun, 1328-1396). Yi Gok studied under Yi Je-hyeon, served as dochomuichanseongsa (a senior state councillor), and was enfeoffed as Lord of Hansan. Yi Saek, who served as Rector of Seonggyungwan, the state Confucian academy, was a Neo-Confucian scholar known, together with Jeong Mong-ju (pen name Poeun) and Gil Jae (pen name Yaeun), as one of the 'Three Eun' — three scholars who refused to submit to King Taejo, Yi Seong-gye, founder of Joseon, and who kept their integrity and remained loyal to Goryeo as it fell. 975 of the original woodblocks survive and are preserved in the Jangpangak, the woodblock storage hall, of Munheon Seowon. These woodblocks are valued as important source material not only for Korean cultural history but also for the history of Korean literature.
