This stele was erected by Yi Gi-jung, magistrate of Danyang, to commemorate his construction of a stone bridge over the Danyang stream in 1753, the 29th year of King Yeongjo of Joseon. The bridge was named Uhwagyo Bridge, but it was destroyed by a great flood, and today only this stele remains. The stele consists of an elongated, rectangular body set on a square base. The inscription records the names of those who took part in building the bridge, together with the carpenters, earthworkers and stonemasons. The stele was erected the following year, 1754, the 30th year of King Yeongjo, the year after the bridge was completed.
