Injeok and Dongin of Tongdosa Temple, Yangsan
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This consists of a seal box (injeok) used to store various seals, together with the seals (dongin) themselves. The seal box is made of rectangular timber, complete even to its lid. Its surface is decorated with sharkskin, and metal fittings are attached at each corner, giving it an elegant and sturdy appearance that underlines the importance of the seals kept inside. All three seals are made of bronze. One was made in the 12th year of King Hyeonjong of Joseon (1671) and is engraved with the characters for 'Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha'. Another bears no engraved date, but judging from its form and material it is presumed to have been made around the same time as the first, and is engraved with characters reading 'the seal of the monk-overseer of Sinheungsa Temple'. The remaining seal appears, from its material and form, to be later in date than the other two, and seems to have been a seal used at Tongdosa Temple for stamping books.
