Andong Jukjeon-dong Three-story Stone Pagoda
안동죽전동삼층석탑 · 安東竹田洞三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a stone pagoda with a three-story body set on a two-tier base. Pillar shapes are carved on the upper tier of the base and on the body stones, and in particular the first-story body stone bears a carved doorway motif. The underside of each roof stone carries tiers of moulding: five on the first story, four on the second, and three on the third, the number decreasing towards the top, a feature unique to this pagoda. Although relatively small, the pagoda's parts are well balanced and in harmony with one another. It follows the general style of Unified Silla stone pagodas, but the change in the number of roof-stone tiers suggests that it dates from the early Goryeo period.
