This statue stood at the site of Ubangsa Temple in Goseong-eup, Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, before being moved in 1964 to Daemuryangsa Temple in Yanghwa-ri, Daega-myeon, Goseong-gun. The topknot-shaped hair bun that once crowned the head has broken off and been repaired in cement. The face is round, with well-balanced features that give it a gentle expression. The body is sturdy, with broad, angular shoulders, and the robe draped over both shoulders is rendered thinly, clearly revealing the contours of the body beneath. The right hand is raised to about shoulder height with the fingers brought together, though the tip is broken so its exact form cannot be determined; the left hand rests on the knee. The lower body is well proportioned with the upper body, giving a stable posture, and both feet are exposed. Judging by the carving technique, the stable posture and the detailed treatment of the face, the work is thought to have been made in the Unified Silla period.
