This is a triad of Buddhist images in which a seated principal Buddha at the centre is flanked by Jijang Bosal, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, standing on the right, and Gwaneum Bosal, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, standing on the left. All three had lost their heads, hands and feet and lain scattered before being restored in plaster. The principal Buddha wears a robe draped over the left shoulder, its folds carved softly, and both arms hang down to rest near the knees. The rendering of the beard and the small, firmly closed mouth are striking, and the ears are not elongated. Jijang Bosal is bald-headed and shares the same face as the principal Buddha, with a robe covering both shoulders. Gwaneum Bosal holds a clenched right fist to the chest and wears a crown on the head. Judging from the muscles of the arms and legs, the manner of dress, and the sturdy build, this figure is regarded as a Vajra guardian, a protective deity of Buddhism. Only the body of the image now survives, but the pedestal, part of the halo that once stood behind the image, and a carved stone lion lie scattered nearby.
