Migukgongsagwan Hall is the former United States legation building, located on Sejong-ro in Jongno-gu. The building is presumed to have been built before 1883, the year the American legation was established there. It was originally constructed as a traditional Korean house (hanok), then partially rebuilt with its interior remodelled around 1900. A haengnang wing (a row of outbuildings used for servants' quarters and storage) was added later, giving the building its present form. Much of its appearance from 1883 survives, and it is significant as the first foreign legation building erected in Seoul.
