The Cheonseongsa Temple Three-story Stone Pagoda originally stood beside the road at the entrance to Cheonseongsa Temple and was later moved and re-erected within the temple grounds. It once formed a pair with a twin pagoda standing alongside it, but that other pagoda has since been moved to Bongseong Elementary School. The pagoda has a single-tier base (gidan) that bears the weight of the whole structure, topped by a three-storey body; although the base is only a single tier, it was built tall, so the pagoda does not lose its sense of stability. Slender pillar shapes are carved into the corners of the base's four faces and of the body stones of each storey. The roof stones appear thin, their eaves forming a gentle curve that lifts slightly at the four corners; the support tiers beneath them are cut into four angular steps on the first and second storeys but rounded on the third. The reduced overall scale, the simplified base, and the form of the roof stones together clearly display features characteristic of the Goryeo period.
