This pagoda stands at the site of Wollimsa Temple, said to have been founded in the 15th year of King Seongjong of Goryeo (966), and is also known as the Byeogokchap, or Green Jade Pagoda. It takes the form of a five-storey body raised on a two-tiered base. Pillar shapes are carved on the upper and lower tiers of the base and on the body stone of each storey. The thick roof stones have a gentle slope that curls up slightly at the four corners; on their undersides the eaves supports number five tiers on the first and second storeys, four on the third, and three on the fourth and fifth, decreasing in number towards the top. Overall, the first-storey body stone is narrow and tall, while from the second storey the body stones shorten abruptly, so that the proportions and balance of the pagoda are not entirely satisfactory. It is presumed to date from the late Goryeo period.
