This is a residential house built in 1917. The main hall, the outer hall, and a sotdaemun — a gate built one level higher than the roof of the servants' quarters — survive. The single-row main hall stands on a platform of piled natural stones, with square-cut foundation stones supporting square wooden pillars. The roof is a splendid paljak (hip-and-gable) roof, whose side profile resembles the shape of the character for 'eight'. An inscription on a roof-end tile reads, in translation, 'the tenth day of the byeongjin month of the 525th year since the founding of Joseon, wishing for long life, wealth, honour and a son,' which reveals the exact date the building was constructed. The tiles at the four corners of the roof are carved with the four trigrams of the taegeuk (Great Ultimate) symbol. Although the building is not old, it preserves the form of traditional architecture well.
