Provincial Tangible Heritage

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krHoused within Dogapsa Temple, this is a type of stone trough used for holding water or washing grain. It was made by hollowing out a long, rectangular block of stone and rounding off each corner; the underside is carved into a rounded, semicircular shape, so that viewed from the side it resembles a small dugout canoe. A small drainage hole for releasing water is bored into the bottom on the inside. An inscription remaining on the surface reveals that it was made in the eighth year of King Sukjong of Joseon (1682).
