This is a seodang, a village school that provided elementary education in local areas during the Joseon period. In 1677, the twenty-third year of King Sukjong, Gyeonghyeondang, where classes were held, and Yongmun Yeongdang, a shrine for memorial rites, were built together, but Yongmun Yeongdang has since been demolished and no longer exists. Gyeonghyeondang is a building three bays wide across the front and two bays deep, with a gable roof (matbae) whose triangular end takes the shape of the character 人, meaning "person". It is a very simple building, with a wooden-floored room (maru) on the right and an underfloor-heated room (ondol) on the left. In the north wall of the ondol room is a shrine niche (gamsil) enshrining a portrait of Song Si-yeol. Two documents, the Sian and the Yongmun Seodang Gyejwamok, are also preserved in the hall.
