A sindobi (spirit-path stele) is a stone monument recording the lifetime achievements of a king or high official, erected to the southeast of his tomb; this stele commemorates the life of Sin Jung-eom (1522–1604), a civil official under King Seonjo of Joseon. Sin Jung-eom lost his parents early in life and served his stepmother and younger sibling with such filial devotion and sincerity that his conduct became widely known. After entering government service he governed the people under his charge with benevolence, and during the Japanese invasions, on seeing the army suffering from a shortage of military provisions, he supplied grain from his own stores, applying himself fully to matters of state. In recognition of this the court appointed him Cheomji Jungchubusa, an honorary advisory post in the Jungchubu council, and when he reached the age of eighty he was further promoted, receiving the senior official rank of Gaseondaebu and the post of Dongji Jungchubusa. After Sin Jung-eom's death he was posthumously granted the rank of Jwachanseong (State Councillor) in recognition of his descendants' merit. The inscription on the Sin Jung-eom Spirit-path Stele was composed by Sim Hui-su and written out by Yi San-roe in 1609, the first year of King Gwanghaegun, and the stele itself was erected 47 years later, in 1655, the sixth year of King Hyojong.
