금강반야경소론찬요조현록 · 金剛般若經疏論纂要助顯錄

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe Geumgang banyagyeong, also known as the Geumgang banya baramil gyeong or Geumgang-gyeong (the Diamond Sutra), is a scripture holding that only by severing every link in the chain of suffering with a wisdom as hard as diamond can one reach the world of enlightenment. In Korea, among the scriptures of the Prajnaparamita group, whose fundamental teaching is the concept of emptiness (空), it is the most widely read after the Banya simgyeong (Heart Sutra). This book was published in 1378, the fourth year of King U of Goryeo, at Cheongnyongsa Temple in Chungju; it is a further explanation of the Geumgang banyagyeongsoron chanyo, which had itself explained the Geumgang banyagyeong. Printed from woodblocks onto mulberry paper, it measures 16 cm in width and 29 cm in length, and apart from the loss of one side of its final leaf, it is in a very good state of preservation. As a book more than 600 years old, it is valuable as material for research into Buddhist terminology and idu-style transcription (a system of writing Korean using Chinese characters for their sound or meaning); an identical copy held at Dongguk University has been designated Treasure No. 720.
