This album was produced in 1741 to commemorate a royal bestowal of wine (seon-on) given by King Yeongjo at Gyeonghyeondang Hall in Gyeonghuigung Palace, in praise of the completion of a reading of the Chunchu (Spring and Autumn Annals) together with royal secretaries of the Seungjeongwon (Royal Secretariat) and officials of the Hongmungwan (Office of Special Advisors). The cover bears the title Gyeonghyeondang-do Eoje Eopil Hwajaecheop (Album of the Gyeonghyeondang Hall Painting with the King's Own Poem and Writing in His Own Hand). Page 1 contains a painting; pages 2–6 contain a text in which the king praises the completion of the reading of the Chunchu at the royal lecture; page 7 contains a seven-character quatrain composed by the king himself (eoje-si); pages 8–10 contain poems composed in matching rhyme to the king's poem by thirteen officials of the Royal Secretariat and the Office of Special Advisors who attended at Gyeonghyeondang Hall; pages 10–12 contain further poems composed by nine of these officials; and page 13 contains an elegy. At the start of page 2 is written "the Sinyu year, sixth month, twenty-second day, the hour of Sin (3–5 pm)," showing that the event took place on the twenty-second day of the sixth month of 1741, the seventeenth year of King Yeongjo. The composition of the painting and its depiction of the building compare well with Gyeonghyeondang Seogyeon-do (Painting of the Banquet at Gyeonghyeondang Hall) in the Gisa Gyecheop, completed in 1720 to commemorate King Sukjong's entry into the Girosa (Office for Elders), and with Gyeonghyeondang Seonon-do (Painting of the Royal Wine Bestowal at Gyeonghyeondang Hall) in the Gisa Gyeonghoecheop, made in 1745 to commemorate King Yeongjo's own entry into the Girosa. In particular, the pink colouring (now darkened to black in this item) of the flower-patterned wall, the dancheong patterns, and the delicate jade-green and pink colours used on the building are features shared with the Gisa Gyeonghoecheop, painted around the same period. At the bottom of page 2 is stamped the seal "Sin Gwangchan-in" (Seal of Your Subject Gwangchan), suggesting that the album was once owned by Yun Gwang-chan, an acting royal secretary (gajuseo). There is some partial damage from insects and slight discolouration in the painted areas, but the album is otherwise relatively well preserved in its original form. In particular, the record painting on page 1 has documentary value for comparison with Gyeonghyeondang Seogyeon-do in the 1720 Gisa Gyecheop and Gyeonghyeondang Seonon-do in the 1745 Gisa Gyeonghoecheop.
