Homsil Village is home to the head house of the Juksan Bak clan and other old houses, naturally arranged according to the lie of the land, and is a village where members of the Juksan Bak clan live together. In recent years some houses have been newly built or renovated, somewhat harming the character of the village, but it remains a representative village within Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province that still retains the old appearance of a traditional village. The main hall (anchae) of the Juksan Bak clan head house was built in 1841, and its detached men's quarters (sarangchae) are presumed to date from the late 18th century. The head house consists of one main hall and one servants' quarters building, while the house belonging to Bak Hyeong-gi consists of one detached men's quarters and one L-shaped main hall. Considering the history of the houses together with their spatial layout and structure, the site holds considerable value.
