Behind Jeungpyeong-eup, Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, on an east-facing slope of Namdaesan Mountain, lies the site of Namharisa Temple. On the rock face near this temple site, a total of five Buddha and Bodhisattva figures are carved across three faces. One face bears a principal Buddha at the centre flanked by Bodhisattvas on either side, and on the north face of the same rock a standing Buddha is carved separately. On a triangular rock directly in front of the south side of the rock bearing this Buddha triad, a pensive bodhisattva is carved, seated with one leg raised, in the half-cross-legged posture of deep contemplation. The rock-carved Buddhas as a group range in height from 1.14 to 2.98 metres: the principal Buddha is 2.98 metres tall, the standing Buddha 2.53 metres, and the pensive bodhisattva 2.53 metres.
