This shrine was built to hold memorial rites for Jang Ryun of the Okgu Jang clan, who served as Third Counsellor of the Board of Works in the early Joseon period, and it stands beside his grave. The date of its construction is unknown, but the plaque reading 'Hamijae' bears an inscription that reads: 'a day in the fourth month of a mu-in year, respectfully written by Seolam.' The sangnyangmun — a document recording the raising of the roof ridge and naming those who took part in the building's construction — contains a repair record reading 'the sixth gapja year after Sungjeong, the ninth day of the third month, at the sa hour, the ridge beam was raised; the building sits yu and faces myo,' though this appears to be an error. On the basis of the sangnyangmun, the plaque and other material, the building is thought to date from the mid-Joseon period, and it is in good condition.
