This is a late Joseon-period house, relocated from the residence of Yi Yang-hun in Nohyeon-ri, Munui-myeon; it is said to have originally been the head house of a family of the Gangneung Kim clan, whose head held the post of royal secretary (seungji). In structure, the main house is an L-shaped timber-framed, tile-roofed building, while the side wing, the four-pillar gate and the outhouse are timber-framed thatched buildings; the side wing is a single-row building. In 1993, when the Munui Heritage Complex was created, the house was relocated and restored to its present site. According to the June 1980 national register of settlements and traditional (folk) houses, it was built about two hundred years earlier; the Eom family and then the Kim family lived there, and after a family of the Yeonan Yi clan moved in, Yi Seong-hun lived there. The survey at the time also recorded four traditional tile-roofed buildings on the site: a main house, a sarangchae (men's quarters), a storehouse and a byre. When the house was dismantled and rebuilt as the Munui Heritage Complex was created, it took its present form of an L-shaped main house together with a single-row gate house, storehouse and byre; the sarangchae was not rebuilt, and it is presumed to have been lost at the time of relocation. The floor plan of the main house shows the characteristics of folk houses of the Chungcheong region, and the building's framing technique is worked in finer detail than in ordinary folk houses. It is also thought that, in the course of relocation, the gable section of the main house's roof was raised slightly. The floor plan of the main house shows the characteristics of folk houses of the Chungcheong region, and its framing technique, worked in finer detail than in ordinary folk houses, gives the building sufficient value as a piece of heritage.
