A yuheobi is a stele erected to commemorate the former traces of a historical figure. This stele stands in the hometown of Ha Wi-ji (1387–1456), a renowned civil official of the early Joseon period. Ha Wi-ji was one of the Sayuksin, the Six Martyred Ministers, and entered government service after passing the civil service examination in the twentieth year of King Sejong (1483). He served as a gyori at the Hall of Worthies before becoming Vice Minister of Rites, and was executed after plotting with Seong Sam-mun and others to restore King Danjong to the throne. It was not until the reign of King Sukjong that his history became known and his official rank was restored; under King Yeongjo he was posthumously promoted to Minister of Personnel and given the posthumous title 'Chungnyeol' (Loyal and Righteous). The stele has a simple structure, with the stele body set upright on a base stone. Its front bears the stele's inscribed title, which translates as 'Remains Stele of the Venerable Ha Wi-ji of Dangye, of Joseon under the Ming.'
