Yeongcheon Jeonggak-ri Three-story Stone Pagoda
영천정각리삼층석탑 · 永川正覺里三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krStanding on a small plot of land now used as a field, this pagoda has a three-storey body raised on a two-tier platform. The platform and the three storeys of the body each have pillar shapes evenly carved on every face. Unusually, the lower tier of the platform is carved with a lotus-flower design, which draws the eye. The roof stones covering each body stone have four-tiered eaves-supports on their undersides, and the eaves are horizontal before curving up very gently at the corners. At the top, only the square base that once supported the finial ornament remains. Although the pagoda largely follows the style of Unified Silla, its lotus design and the form of the roof stones depart from the typical style, suggesting that it was erected in the Goryeo period.
