This is a record of the wartime exploits of Master Samyeong, the monk-general who fought with unwavering loyalty during the Japanese invasions of 1592-1598, compiling an account of his activities. It was edited by Sin Yu-han in 1738, the fourteenth year of King Yeongjo, through the efforts of Nam Bung, a dharma descendant of Master Samyeong five generations removed, and printed the following year at Pyochungsa Temple. The contents of this book include a 'tamjeonggi', a record of intelligence gathered on the war situation, documents exchanged with Japanese officials during his mission to Japan, and later generations' assessments of his achievements. These woodblocks are valued as important material that supplements research both into the Japanese invasions of Korea and into the personal history of Master Samyeong.
