정인홍 선대 증직 교지 · 鄭仁弘 先代 贈職 敎旨

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krBetween 1602, the 35th year of King Seonjo's reign, and 1615, the 7th year of King Gwanghaegun's reign, the royal court issued a series of patents conferring posthumous titles (jeungjik gyoseo) on the ancestors, wife and descendants of Naeam Jeong In-hong (1536–1623). In total seventeen such patents survive. Jeong In-hong was a Joseon-dynasty official who served under King Gwanghaegun. While serving as magistrate of Hwanggan County in 1573, the 6th year of King Seonjo, he carried out many benevolent works, and when the Imjin War broke out he raised a righteous army in Hapcheon and drove back the invading Japanese forces. In 1602, the 35th year of King Seonjo, he was promoted to Inspector-General (Daesaheon), and later held the offices of Third State Councillor, Right State Councillor, Left State Councillor and Chief State Councillor. However, during the Injo Restoration he was unjustly put to death by the ruling Westerners faction. In 1908, the 2nd year of Emperor Sunjong, his honour was restored and his official ranks reinstated. Later, Hwang Hyeon (pen name Maecheon) and Sin Chae-ho (pen name Danjae) both praised Jeong In-hong as a reform-minded man who put his principles into practice.
