Stone Vairocana Triad in Jukgo-ri, Hapcheon
합천 죽고리 석조비로자나삼존상 · 陜川 竹古里 石造 毘盧舍那 三尊象

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a stone Buddhist triad in Jukgo-ri, Jeokjung-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, with a seated Vairocana Buddha as the principal image at the centre, flanked by two standing Buddha statues. The seated Vairocana Buddha is 160 cm high and 70 cm wide, its hands held before the chest with the left hand wrapping around the index finger of the right hand. The robe is too worn to make out clearly, but appears to be draped over the left shoulder only, and the feet are carved small in proportion to the body. The standing Buddha statues on either side are 120 cm high and 40 cm wide; they are too worn to assess in detail, but their carving technique is distinctive.
