Rebuilt in 1786, it has maintained close ties with leading literary figures of the Geochang region down to the present day, contributing to the rooting of local culture, and it is a historic site imbued with the spirit of those who raised righteous armies (uibyeong) and achieved distinction during the Japanese invasions of 1592–1598 (the Imjin War). It is a late Joseon-period building, four bays wide and one bay deep, whose plain floor plan and simple, unadorned timber-frame construction techniques (gagu) still show its appearance at the time of reconstruction.
