The books and documents held at Gumi Jabisa Temple are mostly important Buddhist scriptures printed before the Japanese invasions of Korea (the Imjin War). The Diamond Sutra (Geumgang-gyeong), carved in several different scripts, and the Bulseol Geumgangjeong Yuga Choeseung Bimil Seongbul Sugu Jeukdeuk Sinbyeon Gaji Seongchwi Darani (a rare Buddhist dharani text) are rare editions of which few copies survive, and the Lotus Sutra (Myobeop Yeonhwagyeong), present here in several different editions, is judged to be valuable material for the study of Buddhism. Judging from the calligraphic style, layout, carving technique and paper quality of the above books, they are presumed to be editions printed before the Japanese invasions of Korea.
