Provincial Tangible Heritage

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the grave of Lady Hong, wife of Son Jung-don, posthumously titled Gyeongjeolgong (1463–1529); around the burial mound stand one tomb stele and two stone figure statues. Lady Hong was born in 1464 to Hong Heum-son and his wife of the Han clan, and married Son Jung-don, but died in 1500 at the age of thirty-seven. The tomb stele and stone figures, erected in 1547, are historically significant not only for their age but because the epitaph, both composed and written in calligraphy by Yi Eon-jeok, was the work of one of the leading scholars of his time.
