Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis bronze bell, cast during the Goryeo period, stands 30.2 cm in total height with a mouth diameter of 21.8 cm. It is fitted with a dragon-shaped hanger, a band of standing floral motifs, an upper band, nipple panels, striking points and a lower band. The dragon of the hanger takes the unusual form of appearing to enter the body of the bell, and the sound tube is shaped like a bamboo stalk, its end decorated with a floral motif. The upper band bears a lotus design, and below it are four nipple panels whose borders are decorated with cloud patterns, each panel containing nine nipples. Four striking points are set between the nipple panels. Part of the body of the bell has broken away, with a crack running alongside the damage. Between the striking points on the lower band is an inscription incised in dots reading "Haeinsa - Sangsoiam," naming the hermitage under Haeinsa's administration to which the bell belonged. It is currently kept and displayed at the Haeinsa Museum of Sacred Buddhist Art.
