The murals cover the entire interior wall surface of the Daeungjeon Hall at Eunhasa Temple, Gimhae, and comprise a total of 32 paintings on subjects including the Buddhas of the Three Ages, Amitabha's Welcoming Descent [the scene of Amitabha Buddha coming to receive the souls of the dead], images of bodhisattvas, guardian deities, arhats and Daoist immortals, and peonies. The Assembly of the Three Buddhas painting and the Amitabha's Welcoming Descent painting, the two central murals on the left and right walls inside the hall, differ in technique from the other murals; they appear to be somewhat earlier in date than the rest and are presumed to have been produced sometime after the eighteenth century, in the late Joseon period. In the Buddhas of the Three Ages mural, centred on the main image of the Daeungjeon Hall, the left-hand wall was coated overall with a malachite-green pigment, and a standing image of Sakyamuni Buddha was placed at the centre with Bhaisajyaguru and Amitabha Buddha to either side; the flesh of the bodies was rendered in white, with the contour lines of the bodies drawn in vermilion.
