Yosujeong Pavilion was where Master Yosu enjoyed pungnyu, refined literary and musical pursuits, while teaching his disciples. It was first built in 1542 between Guyeonjae and Cheoksudae terrace to the south, but was destroyed by fire during the Japanese invasions of 1592 (the Imjin War). It was later damaged again by flooding, and in 1805 his descendants moved it to its present location, across from Suseungdae. A ridge-beam inscription records repairs carried out in the late 1800s. Yosujeong stands alone, without any attached buildings, in a pine grove across from Suseungdae; it is a two-storey pavilion. In plan it measures three bays across the front and two bays to the side, with one bay at the rear enclosed as a room and the remainder consisting entirely of wooden flooring. The room has wooden-panelled walls, with doors set into the three sides other than the rear. The floor of the upper storey is laid with well-frame flooring (umuru), and balustrades with curved posts (gyejanangan) encircle all four sides except for part of the entrance on the left of the rear.
