Chunamdang Hall Incheon Portrait
춘암당 인천 진영 · 梁山通度寺所藏歷代高僧影幀
Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis portrait shows Chunamdang Incheon seated cross-legged on the floor, in a left seven-tenths profile, wearing a grey jangsam (monk's robe) and a vermilion gasa (outer monastic robe). Turned slightly to the side, he holds a monk's staff in his left hand and a string of prayer beads in his right. Behind him is a plain, undecorated two-tier background of an upper wall and a mat below, set against a patterned chair-back decoration. An inscribed title in ink on a vermilion ground appears to the right of the picture, and an accompanying eulogy, likewise in ink on a vermilion ground, appears to the left; together they show that the portrait was made in 1860. The picture measures 84.0 cm wide and 123.2 cm high.
