No record survives of when Dorisa Temple was founded, but it is known as the first temple of Silla. Geungnakjeon Hall is the main worship hall of Geumdangam Hermitage, a subsidiary hermitage of Dorisa Temple, and is presumed to have been built in the early 19th century. It measures three bays across the front and three bays along the side, with a hip-and-gable roof that forms the shape of the Chinese character for "eight" when viewed from the side. The bracket sets that support the eaves are arranged in the dapo style, with brackets placed both above the columns and between them. Inside, a wooden seated Amitabha Buddha is enshrined, and murals are painted on the walls.
