Amitabha Gupumdo Painting of Pyochungsa Temple, Miryang
Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr · no licence stated

The Amitabha Gupumdo painting enshrined in Daehongwonjeon Hall of Pyochungsa Temple is a type of Amita geungnak hoesangdo, a painting of the assembly at Amitabha's Pure Land, composed on the basis of the Amitabha Sutra. It is, in other words, a gwangyeong byeonsangdo, a painting depicting scenes from the Contemplation Sutra, which sets out the appearance of the Western Paradise densely and minutely across the whole surface of the painting. The painting is currently enshrined in framed form on the altar set up inside Daehongwonjeon Hall, and a wooden frame has recently been built around all four outer edges of its front. As a result, the inscription written in ink at the bottom of the painting is hidden within this frame, so its contents cannot be examined in detail.
