Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krHa Yun (1452–1500), whose courtesy name was Subu and pen name Unsudang, was the grandson of Ha Sun, who passed the saengwon examination in 1414 and served as magistrate of Saneum, and the son of Ha Gye-ji, who served as magistrate of Geoje. In 1477 he passed both the saengwon and jinsa examinations, and in 1483 he passed the higher civil examination (munkwa); he served as jwarang (assistant section chief) in the Ministries of Rites, Taxation and Justice, and while serving as magistrate of Suncheon he died there. In 1719 he was enshrined at Jeonggang Seowon in Jinju. The tombstone was first erected in 1502, but in 1851 the original stone was retained while the inscription was ground away and recarved. The pedestal, tombstone body and capstone are carved from a single block of stone. Ha Yun's tombstone and the previously designated stone figure statue (Cultural Heritage Material No. 404) are important materials for understanding local culture, and the stone figure statue is therefore being upgraded and designated, together with the tombstone, as Gyeongsangnam-do Tangible Cultural Heritage for preservation and management.
