This is the tomb of General Jeong Ji (posthumous title Gyeongnyeolgong, 1347–1391), a military official of the late Goryeo period. In 1365 (the fourteenth year of King Gongmin) he placed first in the sama exam, a preliminary civil-service examination, and the following year he passed the munkwa, the higher civil-service examination, entering official life. In 1374 (the twenty-third year of King Gongmin) he submitted Korea's first plan for establishing a navy and was selected as pacification commissioner (anmusa) of Jeolla-do. In 1377 (the third year of King U) he became military commissioner (dobyeongmasa) of Suncheon and repelled Japanese pirate raiders who had invaded Suncheon, Nagan and other areas. In 1388 (the fourteenth year of King U) he took part in Yi Seong-gye's withdrawal of troops from Wihwado Island, and for this achievement he was named a second-class meritorious subject in 1390 (the second year of King Gongyang) and appointed magistrate of Gaeseong, but he died of illness before he could take up the post. The tomb precinct today contains a stone-built grave and gravestone, along with two stone figures.
