Eonyang Dolmen
언양지석묘 · 彦陽支石墓

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krJudging by its scale, the Eonyang Dolmen is the largest go-board-style dolmen, a type with a large capstone resting on low support stones, found anywhere in the Yeongnam region. The dolmen's capstone measures 8.5 m long and 5.3 m wide and is trapezoidal in shape, resting at an angle. There are about six support stones, each roughly 2.8–3.1 m in size, which is quite massive. Residents of Seobu-ri call this dolmen "Yongbau" (Dragon Rock) and are said to have offered prayers to it as an object of folk belief. As no excavation has yet been carried out, the form of the underground burial chamber and any artefacts it may contain remain unknown, but the dolmen is well preserved and is notable for its very large capstone. It is regarded as important material for studying the politics, society and culture of the Eonyang area during the Bronze Age.
