Sangye-dong Dolmen No. 1 is a southern-type, capstone-type dolmen estimated to have been built around the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD, standing in a triangular arrangement roughly 10m apart from two other dolmens. The capstone is elongated oval in shape, its southern edge raised 65cm above the ground, with support stones set in a circle beneath it. It measures 310cm along its long axis, 235cm along its short axis and 105cm in thickness, and its upper surface bears five or six cup-marks (seonghyeol) symbolising abundance and fertility. Fragments of plain, undecorated pottery (mumun pottery) were recovered from inside the dolmen. It is thought to date from the early Tamna period, Jeju's ancient kingdom, around AD 1–300.
