Dolmens are a representative form of burial from the Bronze Age, also known as megalithic tombs, and are generally believed to be the graves of a ruling class with economic wealth or political power. Korean dolmens are divided into the table-type, in which four supporting stones are erected to form a stone chamber with a huge flat capstone placed on top, and the go-board-type, in which a stone chamber is built underground with small supporting stones set beneath the capstone. Gwangnyeong-ri Dolmen No. 8 is of the southern type (Type 2), with its burial chamber located underground. It measures 232 cm along its long axis, 130 cm along its short axis, and 54 cm in thickness.
